The company founded in Pöttsching in 1988 started with only a single truck and has continuously developed since then.

Through investments in modern technology and an efficient vehicle fleet, it was able to meet the changing market demands.

Matzhold focused early on flexibility, innovation, and reliable partnerships, which led to successful growth.
1990/91

New Property in Unterfladnitz

Due to continuous and rapid growth, the question of a new business location arose in 1990. The previous premises were no longer able to meet the expanded requirements and increased business volume. After an extensive search, the ideal location was found in Unterfladnitz.
1997

Conversion into a GesmbH - Step into the Future

In the year 1997, the sole proprietorship was converted into a limited liability company (GesmbH) and received its new location at Arndorf 72, 8181 St. Ruprecht.

In the same year, a roughly 1.7-hectare industrial property was acquired in Dietmannsdorf 29, 8181 St. Ruprecht. This restructuring and the acquisition of the property marked another milestone and laid the foundation for further growth.
 
1999

Start of Construction of Office Building and Warehouse

In 1999, the construction of a modern office building and an 800 m² warehouse began on the acquired industrial site in Dietmannsdorf.

The new premises not only provided space for the expansion of the team, but also enabled optimized storage and management of goods.
 
2000

Relocation to Königsdorf

In 2000, the relocation of the company headquarters to Königsdorf took place.

This decision was necessary to keep up with the growing demands and to plan logistics processes as efficiently as possible. The new location offered even better connections to major transport routes and increased accessibility for customers and business partners. 
 
2001

Expansion in the Weiz Region

Matzhold expands its business activities and acquires additional concessions in Styria, particularly in the Weiz region (postal code 8160).

This underscores the entrepreneurial commitment and the great development in this geographic area.
 
2005

Expansion of Storage Capacities in St. Ruprecht

Due to high customer demand and the constant growth of the company, 2,500 m² of additional storage space are being rented in St. Ruprecht.

This investment makes it possible to adequately meet the increasing demand and improve logistics.
 
2008

Expansion of Infrastructure - Production Hall and Storage Areas

The company is building a modern production hall on an industrial site in Dietmannsdorf, covering a total area of 1,300 m².

The hall will be equipped with advanced technology to meet growing demands and further refine production processes. Additionally, two more storage halls totaling approximately 2,920 m² were rented in close proximity to the production hall.

This expansion is an important step towards increasing production capacities and enables even better implementation of the company's goals. 
 
2010

New logistics hall, office building, and capacity expansion for future growth

As part of further renewal, Matzhold plans the construction of a modern logistics hall with an area of 2,700 m², which will be built according to the latest technical standards.

This new hall will be equipped with advanced systems to maximize performance in logistics and goods processing. In parallel, a new office building is being constructed to meet administrative requirements and create a forward-thinking work environment for employees.

As part of this expansion, all existing warehouses will be equipped with cranes that have a load capacity between 5 and 40 tons. Additionally, the former company premises of Extra in Tannhausen, Weiz district, with an area of approximately 4,000 m², have been acquired. This area offers both storage and open space and represents a valuable resource for the growing demands of the company.  
 
2011

Acquisition of the BackTec Property

In order to keep up with the ever-growing demand of our customers, the property of the former company BackTec in 8181 St. Ruprecht is acquired, which has since that time been operated exclusively by us.

Here, there are 3,800 m² large, heated production halls and 1,100 m² large office spaces, which are offered for rent. Additionally, there are industrial areas with 1.8 ha available at this location, and the construction of further storage halls is planned.
 
2012

New Warehouse in Ilz and Dedicated Team for Optimal Customer Service

Matzhold has acquired a 1,600 m² warehouse in the Ilz industrial area to optimally serve the company's southernmost customers. This expansion strengthens the logistical infrastructure and allows for even faster and more adaptable delivery as well as more intensive support in this region.

With a current staff of 90 people, the company continuously focuses on high service quality and industry-specific know-how. The dedicated team is always working to provide customers with tailored solutions at the highest level.
 
2013

Expansion of the Fleet and Storage Areas

The company has a fleet of 37 of its own trucks as well as over 50 trucks from subcontractors to ensure quick and reliable delivery. This extensive fleet enables flexible and timely responses to customer demands and ensures seamless supply.

In addition, the warehouse areas have been expanded to a total of 24,000 m², while the open storage areas now reach a total size of 30,000 m². These expansions significantly strengthen the company's logistical infrastructure and create the necessary capacity to handle the growing volume of storage and distribution efficiently.
 
2015

Opening of the MLZ Warehouse in Albersdorf

Fast construction, modern infrastructure, and smooth warehouse management

The company built the new "MLZ" hall in Albersdorf, Frank-Stronach-Straße 11, in an impressive record time of just 3 months. With a total area of 5,400 m², a length of 130 meters, a width of 40 meters, and a height of 10 meters, the hall offers generous capacities for future storage and logistics.

The hall is divided into three areas by firewalls: one part is used as a block storage, while the other two parts serve as rack storage. This flexible design allows for efficient use of space and targeted storage of various goods. 

Warehouse management takes place directly on-site in the integrated office, speeding up processes and enabling quick and precise inventory control. 
 
2016

Construction of the MLZ Crane Hall in Albersdorf

Matzhold built the "MLZ Crane Hall" in Albersdorf, Frank-Stronach-Straße 11, from February to April. With an impressive height of 16 meters and a storage area of 3,750 m², the hall offers generous capacities for the storage and handling of heavy goods. 

Particularly noteworthy is the equipment with a 32-ton crane and a 60-ton crane, which enable productive handling of heavy loads and make the hall a powerful logistics location. 

Additionally, the hall has been functionally expanded: On one side, an office section was integrated. On the other side, a social section was erected to provide employees with pleasant break and recreation rooms. These expansions contribute to further refining the operational process and creating an ideal working environment.
 
2017

Expansion of the Picking Hall in Albersdorf

The operation has expanded a 400 m² picking hall at the MLZ in Albersdorf. This expansion optimizes order processing and increases success in warehouse logistics.
 
2018

Expansion of the Fleet and Construction of the Crane Hall in St. Ruprecht

The company's own fleet is expanded to a total of 47 trucks, further increasing flexibility and performance level in goods distribution. Additionally, a state-of-the-art crane hall with an area of 2,500 m² is being constructed at the St. Ruprecht site.

This hall will be equipped with a 32-ton and a 60-ton crane to meet the demands for heavy loads. This expansion significantly increases capacity in the areas of storage and logistics, leading to even smoother order processing.
 
2019

Construction of the logistics hall ‚MLZ Preding‘ and expansion of the fleet

A new logistics hall with an area of 5,500 m² was built in Preding under the name „MLZ Preding“ to take over the logistics processes for Magna in Weiz. This expansion allows for even more efficient processing and organization of supply chains.

At the same time, the company's own fleet was increased to 50 trucks and modernized to EURO 6 vehicles to meet the latest environmental standards. This investment not only increases the company's capacity but also contributes to reducing CO2 emissions and improving operational management.
 
2021

Investment in a Modern Truck Workshop

Investment was made in the expansion and equipment of an in-house, modern truck workshop with a total area of about 700 m². This new workshop enables quick maintenance and servicing of the company's fleet on-site, which reduces downtime and facilitates operational processes.

The contemporary equipment and technology ensure that all vehicles remain in perfect condition to guarantee smooth and reliable transportation.
 
2023

Photovoltaic Systems for a Sustainable Future

As part of our commitment to environmental awareness and innovation, Spedition Matzhold relies on renewable energy sources: Modern photovoltaic systems with a total capacity of 1,000 kWp have been installed on our company buildings. This green innovation enables us to make a significant contribution to environmental protection by meeting our energy needs in an environmentally friendly and resource-conserving manner.

With this investment in renewable energy, we emphasize our goal to take on ecological responsibility and actively contribute to a nature-conscious future.
 
2024

Fuel Conversion to HVO 100

Another milestone in our sustainability strategy is the conversion of our company-owned gas station and the complete transition of the fuel offering to 100% HVO 100 (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil).

By using this innovative, CO₂-optimized fuel, we reduce the fuel emissions of our vehicle fleet by up to 90%.

With this step, we are setting a clear signal for climate-friendly logistics and emphasizing our ambition to combine environmental responsibility with modern technology.
